Summer in the Adirondacks typically means busy hiking trails, lakes full of boats, and bustling downtowns. So while this year may not be typical, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a great vacation in the Adirondacks! Here are our 5 reasons why the Adirondacks are the perfect place for a social distancing vacation.
Explore new territory on a rail bike
Hit the rails with your social distance crew and explore the Adirondacks’ most unique experience: Revolution Rail Co.! Alpine Lodge is minutes from the North Creek Railroad Station, the meeting point for your adventure along the Hudson River.
Rev Rail is an awesome (and leisurely!) way to explore part of the Adirondacks that has never seen traditional passenger traffic.
Get away from it all on the lake
The easiest way to social distance on vacation? Get out on the water! Rent a kayak, hire a boat, or join a socially-distanced private cruise on one of the area’s beautiful lakes.
Alpine Lodge is centrally located to dozens of Adirondack lakes. Make a day of your trip to Indian Lake with a sightseeing cruise, or take a short drive to Loon Lake and explore the marshes and wildlife.
See things from a new perspective
No vacation in the Adirondacks is complete without a hike up one of the hundreds of mountains and rolling hills we’re so famous for. Whether you’re a veteran hiker working on your high peaks or new to exploring above the tree line, there’s a trail for you. With dozens of hikes within minutes of Alpine Lodge, you can escape the busy trails of more traditional vacation spots and enjoy the fresh air safely.
Enter the splash zone
Put that quarantine crew to the test on the river! No matter the season or river height, rafting in the Adirondacks is great, family fun. But if you’re looking for a bit of a challenge, springtime is the way to go.
